NVIDIA Unveils GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs at CES 2025

NVIDIA has officially revealed the GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs at CES 2025, introducing a lineup of next-generation cards powered by the Blackwell architecture. The series includes four desktop models:

  • RTX 5090: $1,999
  • RTX 5080: $999
  • RTX 5070 Ti: $749
  • RTX 5070: $549

The RTX 5090, NVIDIA’s flagship card, is said to deliver double the performance of its predecessor, the RTX 4090, with improvements in ray tracing, AI rendering via DLSS 4, and energy efficiency. It features 48GB of GDDR7 memory and runs at 575W, powered by a single 12V-2x6 cable.

Release Dates and Pricing

The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 will be available starting January 30, 2025, with the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 following in February. NVIDIA’s pricing for the RTX 50 Series surprised many, coming in lower than expected given the significant performance upgrades.

Key Features and Advancements

The Blackwell architecture enables major upgrades in ray tracing performance and AI-based features like DLSS 4, which improves game visuals and frame rates. NVIDIA has also emphasized better power efficiency and cooling, addressing concerns about power-hungry GPUs without compromising performance.

Market Impact

The RTX 50 Series solidifies NVIDIA’s position as a leader in high-performance graphics. With AMD and Intel also vying for attention, 2025 is shaping up to be a competitive year for GPUs. NVIDIA's latest GPUs aim to meet the demands of gamers, creators, and AI researchers looking for cutting-edge performance.
