PlayStation Introduces Optional PSN Account Sign-In with Exclusive In-Game Content for PC Titles
Players can now access additional in-game content by signing into a PlayStation Network account, though it remains optional.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that starting with the PC release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2on January 30, 2025, players will have the option to sign into a PlayStation Network (PSN)account to access exclusive in-game content. This initiative extends to upcoming titles such as The Last of Us Part II Remastered(available April 3, 2025), as well as existing games like God of War Ragnarökand Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.

While signing into a PSN account is optional, those who choose to do so will enjoy added benefits, including trophies and friend management features. The specific in-game content unlocked by signing in varies by title:
- Marvel's Spider-Man 2: Early access to the Spider-Man 2099 Black Suitand the Miles Morales 2099 Suit.
- God of War Ragnarök: Access to the Armor of the Black Bearset for Kratos at the first Lost Items chest in the Realm Between Realms (previously only available in New Game+), along with a resource bundle containing 500 Hacksilverand 250 XP.
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered: An additional 50 pointsto activate bonus features and unlock extras, plus Jordan’s Jacketfrom Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophetas a skin for Ellie.
- Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: Access to the Nora Valiant outfit.
Sony's move to make PSN account sign-in optional for these PC titles comes after feedback from the gaming community regarding mandatory account requirements. By offering exclusive contentas an incentive, the company aims to enhance the gaming experience for those who choose to connect their games to a PSN account.
